Nobles, Ladies and Friends of
Bektash,
It is with many emotions that I write my final message as Potentate of Bektash. Time has flown. It seems like just yesterday that I was installed. I think about the many things the Divan accomplished and its amazing. It has been my privilege and honor to be your Potentate and I can only hope that at least in some way or instance I have made you proud to be a Shriner at Bektash.
My plan this year for me was to attend all other Masonic events and blue lodge meetings to show support to the bodies and get Bektash’s name out there. Many brothers and ladies have approached me and made sure to comment how busy Lady Kat and I have been this year, but more importantly how nice it’s been to see Bektash at events. It was really nice to hear, and I am hopeful this trend will continue in years to come!
Our building and property needed some work so the focus was to fix the plumbing in the front hall then replace the flooring with tile. We also fixed our dividing wall. Additionally we have installed a new camera system around our building to increase our safety and cleared the brush in the back of the property.
Membership is doing well with the addition of Fellowship Fridays. I am certainly proud of the strides made in this area this past year but this work will never be over and we must continue to be welcoming to our past and most importantly to our future Nobles.
On the fundraising front, I would like to congratulate Co Chairs Chief Rabban Paul Little and Assistant Chaplain Brett Hunter and the entire Feztival Of Trees team on another wildly successful event. To the Chefs, too numerous to mention singularly, the Candy Cane Café food was simply delicious as usual!! Great Job!
And so the time has come for me to move on to the last events of my tenure as Potentate. First is the annual Christmas Party on Saturday December 10th. If you haven’t made your reservations PLEASE DO!! Please come and enjoy the holiday spirit with your fellow Nobles and their ladies!! And please feel free to bring friends!!
Love to welcome and see you ALL!! Next is the final stated meeting of the year on Monday December 12th. This will be a busy night for us, as we elect a new Divan and prepare for installation on January 14th. I believe that the incoming Divan has fresh ideas and great work ethic to make it happen. I hope that you will support them just as you have supported Lady Kat and I this year.
Finally, I can’t thank my Lady Kat enough for her support this year. She came into this role with very little knowledge and training and worked tirelessly to ensure everything was done the way it should be. She came to just about every event outside of Bektash to help put our name out there, and did it with a smile on her face. I wouldn’t have made it through this year without her, and for that I am extremely grateful. There is no one else I would have wanted to do this year with by my side than her!
I thank all of you for being a part of TEAM Bektash, and look forward to seeing all of the new teammates in the future.
Yours and always a teammate.
