Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is doing well in the summer heat. It has certainly been a hot one so far and tough if your house doesn’t have central air like so many New England homes.
A great way to stay cool this summer is to come along to Bingo on Thursday evenings. The hall is air-conditioned and you can help out or simply relax and play bingo. The Chef’s will be cooking and the bar is always open.
We are all fresh from our annual Summer Picnic which was again hosted by Illustrious Past Potentate, Sir Brent Norris and Lady Tracy. This has always been one of my favorite events of the year and one of the first I attended before even petitioning to be a noble.
There were lots of games and great food followed by a dunk tank to raise money for Lady Susan’s project. The Divan were amazing and stepped up to be dunked in ice filled water along with several Past Potentates. Some dressed in costumes to add an additional level of fun.
August sees us back at Pembroke Pines Country Club for the 4th annual Lady Amy Freeman Memorial Golf Tournament. This is a great event for all, no matter your level of golf. I am looking forward to playing in the event and enjoying the company after, back at Bektash where there is a meal and raffle’s.
We are also hosting the Ride for Rides, in co-operation with Rally for Coop. This is an escorted motorcycle ride followed by food and music at Bektash. It’s a great way to be part of a large organized ride that is safely escorted by police escort. All proceeds from this event will go to our Transportation Fund, giving rides to children needing care in our hospitals.
Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make all our events such a success this year. I’m looking forward to seeing you all in August at one of our events.
