Greetings all from the Office of the Recorder!!
February has been a blur but, in a way, that’s a great thing!! We are that much closer to this cold, snowy winter being over!!
The highlight of this month had to be the Potentate’s Valentines Ball!! Lady Dixie and the Divan Lady’s did a fantastic job at planning and decorating. I noticed Emilie Hunter and Marilyn Brison here days in advance to make everything special for the evening. Thank you, ladies, for our support!! Add the gifts presented as door prizes from our Lady’s, with the addition of Donna Fortier’s donations made for an abundance of thoughtful door prizes that everyone enjoyed!!
And the ever popular “Pie Auction” with Ills. P. P. Mark Simard as auctioneer was great a success for Lady Dixies project! Over $2,000.00 raised from the generous donations of delicious treats. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR DONATIONS AND GENEROSITY!!
March is coming up fast and there are a number of important items on the agenda for us here at Bektash.
The Mid Winter meeting of the Northeast Shrine Association will occur mid month. This meeting will provide updates from Imperial Officers in attendance on the work going on at Headquarters.
And the Aleppo team will be providing information for the Field Days to be held in Hyannis in August. Please keep an eye on the future Bektash News articles and announcements coming from this meeting.
Treasurer Walters and I will be attending the joint Treasurers / Recorders annual meeting in Amarillo, Texas towards the end of March. These meetings are extremely important as they allow us to obtain the latest information from Headquarters. And it also allows us to reconnect with Treasurers and Records from throughout the Shrine to brainstorm new ideas and successes other Shrines are experiencing.
Sunday March 8th the Chef’s will be having their monthly breakfast!! Come enjoy a great way to start off your Sunday!!
Other upcoming events include the regular finance meeting, which will be on Monday March 9th at 6PM. ALL are welcome!!
And please Nobles, don’t forget the STATED MEERTING on Monday March 16th !! Come be a part of the decisions and ongoing business of YOUR SHRINE!!
St. Patrick’s day will be celebrated here at Bektash on Saturday March 21st !! The highlight of this evening, beside the delicious meal, is the always popular “POUND AUCTION”!! Please also consider bringing an item for the auction!! Come be a part of the fun going on here at YOUR SHRINE!!
As I conclude my report to you, the Potentate’s trip to the Philippine’s has just begun!! I cannot wait to hear about the experiences had by our group as they travel. I am sure it’s going to be a great time, and the stories will be even better!!
