Potentate’s Message August 2022

Aug 14, 2022 | Potentate

Nobles, Ladies and Friends, Where has the time gone?

It’s hard for Kat and I to believe that 2022 is more than half over! We both are so grateful to all of you for your continued support.

Imperial was a blast, we had 23 nobles, ladies and kids of Bektash attend this year! While Paul and I were in session the ladies enjoyed a day or 2 in the Mall of America. You can find the report of Imperial News and items from the call later in this newsletter by Paul.

As we all know by now, we have lost a large part of our Shriners family, Lady Amy Freeman.

Lady Amy passed away doing what she loved most – riding her motorcycle. She had one of the biggest hearts of anyone I knew – I am honored that I got to follow Illustrious Sir John and Amy. She loved our shrine with every fiber of her being and could always be seen helping out at bingo and the feztival of trees.

Lady Kat and I attended the Membership & Stewards Fellowship Friday on July 15 and had a blast. Every month seems to be bringing in more and more people. The next Fellowship Friday is August 12th – mark your calendars!

The weekend of July 23/24 was a busy one! Lady Kat and I attended the Rainbow Grand Officer and Representative Reception followed by an eventful day at the annual Bektash Picnic. Illustrious PP Brent Norris & Lady Tracey always do a great job putting this event on, and this year was no different. On July 24, we attended DeMolay’s Conclave at the Sheraton in Nashua to represent Bektash. It was great to see the future of masonry at work.

August 20th, Jared LaQuerre will once again be chairing the Prime Rib & Cigar Night at Bektash at 5pm. Make sure to RSVP in the office with Dixie.

The Northeast Fall Field Days are coming up and I’m asking all the Units of Bektash to join me for the parade on Saturday September 17th in Bangor. Once again, contact the office for hotel reservations and fill out the form to mail to Anah on food/event options.

On Sunday September 19th the Masonic Unity Party will be going on at Wellington State Park (Newfound Lake) in Bristol / Alexandria, NH. Details are in this issue of the Bektash News! It is always a great event to get together and enjoy fraternal fellowship.

And I haven’t forgotten how busy the Units are during this time. Weekend after weekend YOU are out there spreading the message of both our Hospitals and our Fraternity. Shrine ambassadors doing what you do best! Thank you all and please, keep up the great work!

Kat and I hope to see you ALL in the next few weeks as we travel to parades.
