Nobles, Illustrious Sirs, Ladies and Friends of Bektash
And here we are, the end of the year ! Colder temps, Winter, and the Holiday season is once again upon us. For most, the start of the Holiday season means Thanksgiving with family, followed by some Black Friday shopping and navigating the crowds at the Malls. But, for the Nobles and Ladies at Bektash, it takes on a different tone. For us, it means the start of the Feztival of Trees and the hours of Christmas music playing through the hall. Especially Santa Baby !
The 23rd annual Bektash Feztival of Trees kicks off the holidays for all of us here at Bektash. We spend our time during Thanksgiving week, with our family of Nobles and ladies that make the Feztival magic work.
This year, we had just over 100 trees in the hall and the chefs had a very busy week. One couple even came back and used their reentry ticket to come back a second day only to order another grilled tomato and cheese from the Candy Cane Cafe. Their son begged and begged to go back and have that sandwich again.
It is also great to see the continued support from our Masonic families. Trees from Grand Lodge, Eastern Star & Rainbow proudly stood in the hall.
Many thanks to Brett Hunter for chairing this event again this year. And many thanks to the rest of the committee and to the volunteers who sacrificed their time during Thanksgiving week to come navigate the crowds in the hall with their Bektash family. We truly appreciate you all and couldn’t think of a better group of people to spend the week with.
Lady Mili and I hope to see you all at our last event of the year ! The annual Christmas party on December 9th, chaired by Brett & Emilie Hunter. Dinner will be provided by Alans of Boscawen and music by DJ Koko. A classy, and enjoyable holiday evening for all is guaranteed.
December 18th will be our final stated meeting for the year. Lady Susan is planning some fun and excitement for the ladies while we conduct our business for the evening.
Lady Mili and I would like to wish every Lady, Noble and friend of Bektash a very happy and safe holiday season.
