Nobles, Illustrious Sirs, Ladies and Friends of Bektash

Lady Mili and I would like to congratulate and welcome our newest Nobles that joined the Bektash family at our Stated meeting on June 19th. Congratulations Noble John Simonds and Noble Jamie Apostolos. Welcome to the Bektash family. We look forward to seeing you often.

I want to thank everyone for coming to the stated meeting on the 19th. I also want to give special thanks to Lady Mili; Ill. Bill Hebert, PP & his Lady Sharon, Dixie Thoroughgood; Brett Hunter and his Lady Emelie for the fantastic BBQ dinner.

It was great to have such a productive meeting with engaged conversation on many of the items brought up to the nobility. This is what working as a team is all about. Our goal as a Divan is to keep the nobility as informed and included in the temple work as we can.

Chief Rabban, Alan Fillingham and I will be representing your votes as we head to Charlotte NC for Imperial Session July 1-6. I am sure it will also be a productive week filled with fun and fellowship with our fellow Nobles from around the globe.

July 22, we will have our annual picnic as chaired by Ill. Brent Norris,PP and his Lady Tracey. This is always a fun filled day with plenty of well crafted games planned. Lady Mili and I look forward to seeing you all there.

During the picnic, I will be calling for a special meeting for the clan of the Bektash Hillbilly Clan #10. If you are a cuzin of the clan, please come on over.

August is approaching fast. This means that the Fall Field Days of the Northeast Shrine Association is up next. This is the biggest event that we can host this year, or have in the past 15 years. We need every noble to help out in any way that you can. All units and clubs should have attendance. March in the parade, help on the sidelines, or just attend and meet the other Nobles from the Northeast and show them the best hospitality that they have ever seen. The Bektash way. For details, please see the NSA webpage, northeastshriners.com. Deadline for reservations is August 1st.

We have been busy getting the building and the grounds cleaned up for the NSA. The parking lot has been redone and looks great. We are also fixing the sound issues in the small hall with the purchase of a new amplifier. Lastly, we are upgrading our exterior locks to an electronic key card access. The building is looking great and has become a great place to spend time with our Bektash Family.

Our parading units are busy this summer with several parades throughout the state booked already. Between, the Mini-Kars, High Rollers, Bektash Clowns and our Legion of Honor, not a weekend goes by where Bektash is not out in the communities of New Hampshire. This is always a fun way to get our word out, by parading in our units. If you are interested in parading, please contact any of the unit heads or the office. I would love to see a new Oriental Band or Drum Corp again in Bektash.
