Potentate’s Message June 2025

Jun 1, 2025 | Potentate

Greetings Nobles and Ladies,

What a busy and rewarding month it has been for Bektash!

Our first Fun and Fellowship event, themed around Cinco de Mayo, was a fantastic evening filled with laughter, good food, and great company. With nearly 50 in attendance, the room was full of energy and Shrine spirit. I’m pleased to share that the event sparked interest and enthusiasm resulting in three new membership petitions. Momentum is building, and it’s an exciting time to be part of Bektash.

Lady Amanda and I had the privilege of attending the Grand York Rite Banquet, where the camaraderie among the various Masonic bodies was truly inspiring. The renewed sense of connection and collaboration was evident, and I am happy to report that we’ve extended the use of the Bektash building to them for the remainder of the year. I hope this spirit of cooperation continues for years to come.

It was also a great honor to represent Bektash at the 236th Annual Communication of the New Hampshire Grand Lodge. Lady Amanda and myself presented the Grand Master fez to MW Scott R Borthwick which was a moment of personal pride and tradition. We extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to him as he embarks on his term. I look forward to a continued partnership between Bektash and the New Hampshire Grand Lodge and its officers.

Serving as your Potentate is a privilege I hold with deep pride. Each interaction, handshake, and shared laugh reminds me of the unique and powerful bond we share as Shriners. Together, we are building something lasting and rooted in fellowship, strengthened by service, and guided by purpose.

As we continue working toward Bektash’s future, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of unity and shared purpose. The strength of our organization lies in surrounding ourselves with individuals who believe in our mission and are committed to its success. A supportive, forward thinking environment is essential to everything we hope to achieve. Let’s continue to lift each other up, stay focused on our goals, and ensure that our actions reflect the values that make Bektash strong.

Fraternally
Evan McIntosh, Potentate
