I hope this edition of the Bektash News finds you all well and enjoying a wonderful spring. Winter is not my favorite season and Lady Susan and I have both enjoyed how mild this year has been.
On June 7-9 Bektash will be partnering with Kora Shriners to hold a Ceremonial at the Fryeburg Fairgrounds. This will be a truly great time to meet Shriners from Kora and experience a full Ceremonial. There are excursions, dinner, a parade and Ceremony followed by live music. Hotel rooms are available along with camping spots in the campground. Fryeburg is very drivable from Concord so maybe come for the day if you don’t want to stay over. This year the Imperial session is in Reno Nevada. As some of you will have seen, we have secured some rooms for anyone that would like to attend. This has been extremely complicated and involved considerable work by some of the Divan. We have not however been able to secure a group booking for flights as this increases the cost considerably. The cheapest way to attend Imperial is to book flights as individuals and take advantage of the deals available to everyone. To help with this we have included the contact details of a travel agent on the flyer who can help find the best option for you.
Some of you may already be aware that my email was recently hacked and emails sent out in my name. This is obviously very concerning, not to mention inconvenient losing access to my account. This is also not the first time this has happened and previous Potentates have also been hacked.
We all at Bektash take personal security and data security very seriously. With this in mind a new email system has been purchased and is in the final stages of being set up. Once this is complete we will release the new contact email addresses to everyone. In the meantime please keep using the normal email as we will still receive them.
No one at Bektash will ever ask you for personal information in an email and we will never ask you to purchase anything on our behalf.
