Potentate’s Message November 2025

Nov 1, 2025 | Potentate

Greetings Nobles and Ladies,

October was another wonderfully busy and rewarding month for Lady Amanda and me.

We had the honor of celebrating Shriners Children’s – New England’s 100th Anniversary, marked by a beautiful Gala at the Mass Mutual Center. Shriners from around the world gathered for this milestone event, which raised an incredible $711,540 in support of our mission.

The very next day, we joined the Shriners Children’s – Boston Haunted Walk at the Garden at Elm Bank in Wellesley, MA. It was the perfect fall day; crisp air, vibrant leaves, and the spirit of giving all around. Over 500 participants took part, helping to raise nearly $600,000 for the children.

Back here at home, Bektash hosted the Tri-Visitation at the North Conway Grand Hotel. This year’s gathering was record-breaking, with 11 of the 16 Northeast Shrine Association centers represented! A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who played a part; from those who began planning two years ago to those who helped make introductions and welcome guests throughout the weekend. The feedback was overwhelming; guests raved about the venue, the mountain setting, and, of course, the hospitality in Room 475!

During the event, Illustrious Sir Richard “Ted” Dooley, PP 2007 and Lady Barbara were honored with the Founders Award for the 25th Anniversary of the Fez’tival of Trees. Their vision and dedication helped build an event that has raised more than $3.7 million for Bektash alone. That same model has since inspired other Shrine Centers, helping them raise hundreds of thousands of dollars as well, a true legacy of generosity and impact.

Speaking of the Fez’tival of Trees, this year’s theme fittingly for the 25th Anniversary, is “Silver.” The event runs November 22–30, and as always, it takes many hands and hearts to make it a success. If you’d like to volunteer, please reach out to Assistant Rabban Brett Hunter or Lady Emilie to sign up for one of the many available positions.

Calling all Nobles! Join us as we proudly march in the Concord Holiday Parade on the morning of November 22nd. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your unit or club and share the spirit of the season with our community. If you or your unit would like to participate, please contact our Recorder to be added to the list and receive all event details. Let’s make this parade one to remember!

Finally; on Monday, November 17, 2025 we celebrate a special milestone, Lady Dixie’s 10th anniversary as our Administrative Assistant. Her commitment and dedication have been a cornerstone of Bektash for the past decade. If you’re in the Concord area that day, please stop by to congratulate her and help make it a memorable celebration.

Fraternally;

Evan McIntosh, Potentate
