Nobles, Illustrious Sirs, Ladies and Friends of Bektash
October already ! With the rainy days and cooler temps this year, it seems like Summer was over before it even started. As official Summer ends and the Fall begins, it is time to thank all our parading units for the hard work and dedication that they have done all Summer. The communities love seeing us our there and we sure do love being out there as well. Thank you to Ed ( Butch ) Kelvington, Dave Walters, Dave Rouleau, and Al Lamson for leading your units in the parades this season.
Our newest club. N.O.A.H hosted the annual Cigar night at the end of August. We had a great turnout and a lot of fellowship for the day. Great job Kevin Ciampa. We look forward to next year.
September did not slow down any either. The Unity Picnic was a perfect weather day and was well attended. Thank you to Alan Fillingham for bringing the salads this year. We also had our third quarterly stated meeting on September 18th where we welcomed four of our newest Nobles. Welcome Nobles, Peter Splaine, William Curtis, Donald Gray & Tonini Oiles. I hope to see you all in a parade unit soon.
September 22nd, we had our 3rd annual Lady Amy Freeman Golf Tournament. The weather was again on our side. After a cool start, the day warmed up quickly and a great day was had. There was a great turnout for the tournament and even I got onto the green for the first time. Great job and thank you to Ill. Brent Norris P.P. & Mike Tebbetts P.P for putting this together. I look forward to next year.
This month, we have a few events ahead of us. First, the Nashua Shrine club is hosting our Oktoberfest on October 7th. This is a walk in event with admission. Come on down and enjoy the fun and gab a sausage and kraut and have a beer.
The following weekend, Lady Mili and I, as well as some of the Divan, will be attending the Rhode Island Shrine Potentates Visitation. We look forward to seeing Illustrious Mike Brito and his Shrine. It looks to be a fun weekend.
October 20-22 will be our own Tri- Visitation as hosted this year by Kora Shrine. I hope to see many of you there this year. I may even get out onto the golf course again while at the Poland Springs Resort.
Feztival of Trees Committee meetings have started. Planning is well underway. If you would like to volunteer, there is a signup genius that will float around soon. If you have any questions, stop on by for one of the committee meetings. Schedule is posted in the Bektash News.
After several weather delays this summer, our parking lot finally received it’s final coat and the lines have been painted. If it wasn’t too hot, it was too rainy. But finally, the crews were able to get back and finish it up for us.
