Greetings Imp. Sirs, Ills. Sirs, Nobles, Lady’s and Friends!!
Hopefully everyone has enjoyed this fine fall weather and brilliant colors of the season here in New Hampshire!! Hard to believe we are on the cusp of the Holidays!!
As I write this it is the Monday post the Tri-Visitation hosted by Kora Shriners in Lewiston, ME. It was a GREAT weekend with an abundance of Shrine hospitality, several great meals and some hilarious entertainment!! If you didn’t enjoy yourself, it was your own fault!! Great job to the hosts at Kora!!
And a quick shout out to the Outdoor Adventure Krew!! What a fun evening at the Corn/Sunflower maze in Concord earlier in October!! It’s always fun to get lost with friends!! Ills. Ken was the first out and while his method worked for him, the rest of us found our way out too!! At the end of the night, we should have followed our leader however!!
Shifting gears to the business of Bektash, e-mail dues notices have been sent out by Imperial. Let us know should you be having any issues regarding your dues. We are here to help.
I would like to thank Noble John Moore for his assistance with members who are/were in arrears with their dues. He has been reaching out to all and working with them and me to get them in good standing. Our list has gotten much smaller and again, should anyone be having difficulties with their dues, reach out. And thanks again Noble John for your valuable assistance.
Quick note on the building. The HVAC unit has been replaced and is running as it should. The crew from Freeman Fuel did a great job and were in and out in less than a day!! Thanks, guys, for a job well done!!
During this past month there was a Unit and Club meeting held post the Breakfast on Oct 11th. Many of the Bektash Units were represented and thank you to Colonel David Vachon for putting this together.
As a remined to all of the Club and Unit heads, please report your upcoming year’s slate of officers to me as soon as possible. I need to submit those to Imperial!! Thanks all for your assistance with this requirement.
During the Unit meeting several parties attended and spoke relative to getting the Hillbillies Clan here at Bektash back together. Over the next few months you will see notices of meetings to get this off the ground. Of the former Hillbillies that attended the meeting, a slate of officers was elected to get these efforts moving. They are:
Raban of the Clan; Ills. PP John Puckhaber
Keeper of the Cob: Ills. Ken Thoroughgood
Keeper of the Quill: Chief Rabban Brett Hunter
Guardian of the Still: Ills. Lloyd Doughty
Stay tuned cousins as we get the Hillbillies up and running once again!!
As you can guess, the focus now is on the Fez-tival of Trees!! Over the last few days several mailings have gone out to our past guests, contributors, and to you the Nobility. Please keep an eye out for them if you haven’t seen them yet!!
And as a reminder, there are many ways that YOU can help!! Lady Emelie is coordinating efforts for volunteers. I am sure she would love to hear from you if you can help out with any aspect to the Fez-tival.
Feel free to reach out to us here in the office and we’ll get you in touch with Emelie ASAP!
And it’s not too early to talk about the December Stated Meeting and Election of Officers. We will be also inducting a new Bektash Noble at that meeting!!
The date is December 14th which is a week earlier than usual but given that the following week would be so close to the holidays, the Divan decided that we would move things up, taking into consideration those who travel over the holidays and sometimes get an early start.
And please don’t forget Imperial By-Law 325.11, Election Regulations, with the elections occurring during that meeting. A copy of that By-Law will be included at the conclusion of this report.
Hoping to see you all during the Fez-tival, I will conclude my report to you all by, as I always do, thanking you for your continued support as YOUR Recorder. It is an honor and privilege, and I look forward to continuing should you all so chose.
Fraternally,
Lloyd
