Valentine’s Day to all!

We hope to see you all at the Bektash Shriners Potentate’s Valentine’s Ball on February 10. Cocktails and appetizers start at 5:00PM. After that, we’ll be having our worldfamous pie auction, followed by dinner at 6:30. The cutoff for reservations is February 2nd. Tickets can be purchased online at WWW.BEKTASHSHRINERS.ORG. Just have your credit card handy. Choose what you want to eat (Chicken Marsala or Prime Rib) fill in your name, an email address with a credit card number and you’re all set. When you make your reservations like that, it automatically updates the list we have for attendees. I tried to order a grilled cheese sandwich, but it wouldn’t let me. Had to settle for Prime Rib…..Sheesh!

I’ve been asked a few times about collecting aluminum can tabs for our Transportation Fund. YES, we do! Your Shrine uses the funds from recycling these tabs to transport and defray the cost of housing of our Shrine kids at Shriners Childrens. We presently have one patient who must go to our Philadelphia Hospital for treatment. Obviously, the little one can’t be driven, so we provide the plane tickets and housing for her and her mom. She’s doing much better thanks to the great care she’s getting, and we are always looking for contributions to our Transportation Fund. By the way, your donation to this fund is tax deductible as it’s used for hospital expenditures. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call in the office 603-225-5372, or email me at recorder. bektash@gmail.com.

This past month, we had the carpets shampooed throughout the building. We all know it’s important to keep our hall clean and looking good. Your Divan has invested your money well to accomplish this task and I’m sure you’re in agreement with us. This is your building, and we all should be proud of it.

Our outgoing Treasurer, Ill. Bill Hebert, will be moving to Tennessee very shortly. He performed many maintenance duties around Bektash throughout the years. He’s replaced emergency lights, fixed woodwork, repaired doors, etc. He’ll be greatly missed. If you are handy and have a desire to help out at Bektash, give us a call in the office, and we’d be more than happy to accept any help you may offer.

Stay tuned for more important stuff happening at Bektash!

It’s great to be a Shriner!
