July turned out to be a busy month here at the Bektash building.
We got our front door keyed with the new electronic entry system. There’s a couple of issues to be ironed out, but we should be up and running before long. When we get the software configured to our specifications, you’ll be able to call us on our cell phones if you need access to the building. We can verify who is calling with our security cameras and unlock the door using our cell phone. Pretty amazing and exciting technology!!
The new amplifier for the small half of the banquet hall has been installed and is working just fine. We were all getting bruises on our hands from slapping the old amp. The contractor did a great job installing and checking out the complete system. Hopefully, this new amp will last us a long time.
The Bektash Picnic put on by Ill. Sir Brent Norris and Lady Tracey was “Wicked Big Fun”! They put on a pig roast for us, and the food was awesome. The culmination of the day was the Pictionary contest at the end. It got a bit out of hand but it was hilarious. We all laughed until we cried. What a great time it was.
The Northeast Shrine Association weekend and parade are fast approaching. The dates are August 11-13. The Concord NSA Shrine parade will start at 10:00 AM, Saturday on Loudon Rd, with the form up at 9:00 on Hazen Dr. We still need some help managing some of the different duties we must perform. We need five nobles to assist at the roads that intersect Loudon Rd. during the parade. All that needs to be done is to stand next to the barricades supplied by the city to make sure they don’t get moved by the general public. We also need some Nobles and Ladies to run some checklists at the entry way to the breakfasts and the Saturday Banquet. If you can help us out, it would be wonderful. Your Divan has been working very hard to make this all happen, but we can’t do it without your support and involvement. Call me at the office if you have any questions at all and if you can help.
The Bektash Temple Dinner for the Northeast weekend on August 11 will be a chicken BBQ at Bektash starting at 6:00 PM. This event is open to the Nobles, Ladies, and families of Bektash. The cost is only $10.00 per person, which includes dinner and hospitality. Call us at the office for reservations to the BBQ. Any other event during the weekend can be reserved on the website: NorthEastShrineAssociation.com. Click on the 2023 session tab, and all the information is there. Come and join in the fun…this only comes to Bektash every 15 years.
See you at the Northeast weekend!
It’s great to be a Shriner!
